Hadong is a village located 15 km from the center of Hanoi. Today, it has become a district of Hanoi, known for its two craft specialties: ironwork and silk.
Vo An Ninh presents to us a pagoda whose entrance is adorned with two majestic columns, an architecture very common in the pagodas of Tonkin, in northern Vietnam.
And finally, we will go to Hanoi to admire the Jade Pagoda by the small Lake.

The municipal theater of Hai Phong, also known as the Grand Theater of Hai Phong, was built in 1904 with construction materials imported from France, at the site of the old market of the village of An Bien, and was completed in 1912.
As the day that traditionally marks the beginning of the Têt Nguyên Ðán (Lunar New Year) festivities approaches, the markets and streets are filled with people and goods, some of which are specialized in selling votive objects. People come here to buy them, but also to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Têt.
In the belief of the Vietnamese, burning votive papers is a deeply rooted habit in cultural practices. On the occasion of national holidays, families do not forget to burn vàng mã (…)

Haiphong is the port located on the Cua Cam, one of the arms of the Red River delta, and its river flows south of Ha Long Bay.
Two canals have been photographed as they are the lungs of this city, the beating heart of commerce: the Bonnal canal and the Haly canal.
In 1915, a map shows us these two canals. The Haly canal is on the right, the Bonnal canal (belt canal) is vertically aligned with the Cua Cam river and creates an urban belt to connect the Tam Bac river to the Cua Cấm river. (…)

The port of Haiphong, built in 1874 under French colonial rule, quickly acquired a dual purpose, both military and commercial. Located on the Cấm River, it became one of the most important ports in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. In 1950, the port of Haiphong was a nerve center for trade and defense. The series of views of the port produced by Vo Anh Ninh, immortalized on three postcards, highlights the importance of the cargo ships present in this port.
The Black River, in French, or Da River, sông Đà in Vietnamese, is the most important tributary of the Red River in northern Vietnam.
