Saigon, 1950.
Under the already hot sun, two women in áo dài hesitate in front of a flower stall : pale roses or scarlet carnations ? Around them, cyclos are parked, ready to carry away the customers’ purchases. The market is bustling, filled with laughter, haggling, and the intoxicating scent of freshly cut bouquets.
Hanoi, 1950.
As Tết approaches, the streets come alive with the trade in flowering shrubs : peach blossoms and kumquats, promising good luck.
