Some amateur photographs sometimes have captions that are not accurate.
For example, this photo is titled "French Annamites."

However, if we look more closely at the costumes, the clothing of the local characters does not correspond to the Vietnamese.
Kimonos and round dome-shaped hats are not typical in either Tonkin or Annam.

Cartacaro would rather bet on Japanese or Korean people.
