Postcard by Dieulefils, part of a series showing the De Tham’s hideout and its pirate gangs. On this card, the pirates have their names written on their chests. Dé Tham is there in the center and behind him stands a white-clad officer. Posted on October 10, 1910.
The second postcard was published after 1914 by the united printing works of Nancy. The green back is synonymous with a poor quality card; after the First World War, France lacked everything, including paper pulp. The officer in the picture has disappeared, and the card number has been changed. It becomes number 3303.

Number 3303 or 3002? It seems that the number of this card is 3303. The number 3002 was assigned to a card on Hanoi, Trade Quay.
With or without an officer? The photographer, Captain Péri, took two photographs of this "arrest" in 1909.
It is unclear why this officer no longer appears on the series of cards published in 1915: perhaps the glass plate was broken, the officer no longer wished to be immortalized, or he died, and out of decency the publisher preferred to include the 1915 view without this officer.
But perhaps the publisher simply had these two photos, did not see the difference during the reissue and printed this new card with the view without the officer.
